Elementary School Enters Final Design Phase; Early Site Package Headed to Bid This Spring
Pleasant Local Schools is excited to share continued progress on the construction of our new elementary school, a key milestone in the district’s long-range facilities plan and an investment in the future of our students and community.
We are now entering the final design phase of the project, known as the Construction Design phase. As part of the next step, the early site package will be going out to bid in early spring, and we anticipate breaking ground soon after (as early as April - weather permitting)!
Once construction begins, families and community members will see visible progress as this long-planned vision becomes a reality.
As planning advances, we are pleased to unveil an updated rendering of the new elementary school building. Designed to support how today’s students learn, the school will feature modern instructional spaces, enhanced safety features, and flexible environments that prepare students for the future.
This project will bring all Pleasant students together on one unified K–12 campus, strengthening safety, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a stronger sense of Spartan pride across grade levels.
Importantly, this project is made possible through Pleasant Local Schools’ partnership with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), established through a 2018 funding agreement. Through this partnership, the state will cover the majority of construction costs, with minimal impact on local taxpayers.
We are grateful for the continued support of our community and look forward to sharing additional updates as we move into the next phase of this exciting project. Please continue to check this page for timelines, photos, and opportunities to stay engaged as we build the future of Pleasant Local Schools together.
