Pleasant Local School District News Article

Our 5th and 6th graders had the wonderful opportunity to visit and participate in a program called JA BizTown.  In this experience, the students were given jobs, had responsibilities, received paychecks, and had the opportunity to spend the money they earned.   Each business took out a loan and had to use their resources to try and pay it back.  They set the prices on the items that they were selling and learned how to advertise to get consumers to buy their product.

They learned about how the economy works and how important workers are in the process. They learned how important it is to work together to make a business successful.   They got a feel of what it’s like to be an adult for the day.  It was an amazing experience that they will always remember.

Special thank you to Sims Bros for giving our 5th and 6th graders this opportunity. Check out our slide-show below.
