Our Search for a New Superintendent

leader

The Pleasant Local Schools Board of Education has contracted with the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) to assist in our search for a new superintendent. The board hopes to complete the search in late spring and the new superintendent is expected to begin work in our district this summer. The new superintendent will replace Jennifer Adams, who has announced her retirement at the end of this academic year. In our effort to make the best possible selection, we have included in the search process a time for OSBA consultants Cheryl Ryan and Will Waidelich to meet with staff and community in focus groups. The focus groups are intended to help augment the profile we’ve developed for Pleasant’s next leader. Common themes will help as we evaluate potential candidates for an interview.

These conversations will take place on Monday, April 25 – each designated for a targeted audience – and will focus on three areas:
(1) Major issues, challenges or opportunities for the district;
(2) Performance experience or expectation for the next superintendent; and
(3) Leadership characteristics that should be evident in the next superintendent.

You're a valued participant and stakeholder in the Pleasant school community and your input is important. Please consider attending a focus group at Pleasant High School.
  • All booster club members are invited to attend at 6pm in room 113 at the high school.
  • The entire community is invited to attend at 7pm in the band / choir room at the high school.

We welcome additional feedback and have created a brief three question survey to collect input from parents and interested community members.   If you have not already,  please take a moment to share your feedback by clicking this link:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PleasantSearch  Your feedback will go directly to Cheryl Ryan and Will Waidelich, the OSBA team leading our search.
The entire Board of Education, thanks you in advance for your willingness to participate and for your dedication to all students in Pleasant Local Schools.
