Congratulations to Lane Johnson for winning 1st place in the Congressional App Challenge! Lane's app will be on display in the US Capitol and he has been invited to attend the House of Code reception in Washington, D.C. This is a fantastic honor!

The email below came yesterday from the Office of Congressman Troy Balderson! Lane is THE 2021 Congressional App Challenge Winner! When you see Lane please congratulate him on this prestigious state award!

"Congratulations also to our staff! One of our academic pillars is to develop Innovative and Creative Thinkers! Keep promoting resiliency, deep conceptual thinking, and strategic questioning! The world today needs adults who possess these skills! Anyone can Google factual information (recall questions)! The higher levels of knowledge such as problem solving, evaluating, synthesizing, and analyzing are the skills our students need to possess! As you review your content standards check out the verbs! Verbs which represent these high depths of knowledge are your power standards! Front load your instructional units with vocabulary acquisition and devote the majority of your instructional time giving students opportunities to engage in work that promotes these power standards!"
