Transportation

Student Requirements
Each student is required by school policy to be at a pick-up point at least 5 minutes before scheduled stop time.

Student Rules
Please see the attachment below for the rules that are posted on each bus. Please also remember that the bus is an extension of the classroom and all school rules and policies still apply.

Our Buses and Routes
Pleasant Schools has a 16 bus fleet consisting of 14 buses less than 10 years old with less than 100,000 miles (we also have 2 older spare buses)

Six of route buses are equipped with digital cameras with more coming in the following year.

We have routes for all school buildings along with routes to Tri-Rivers, St. Mary’s, and special needs routes to MARCAA, Harding and Heritage.

Periodic maintenance is done every 3,000, 5,000, 8,000 miles with daily pre-trip inspections.

Besides factory recalls and major repairs, all work is preformed in our well-equipped garage.

Driver Requirements
All drivers are required by the state to have the following:

Annually
4 hours of in-service

Physical Checkup

3 emergency bus evacuations

Monthly DMV/FBI background checks

Random Drug and alcohol checks (with mandatory checks with an accident of over $500.00 damage or personal injury)

5 year recertification with BCII and FBI back-ground checks

Any in-service done quarterly by the school
